Char Taang ka Koyal is an entertaining political satire. It parodies the idiosyncrasies of the king and his quirky display of power. The people put up with all his eccentricities, but eventually their common sense triumphs over royal foolishness, and our king is left a sadder but wiser man at the end of this comedy.
Bhanu Bharti says that recreating this play from the original Kannada work of Chandra Shekhar Kambar has been, even to him, quite a challenge. But, thus, a great comedy has been added to Hindi theatre.
